Procedure detail
This woman had surgery, followed by radiation, for a brain tumor. The scalp had a large scar running from side to side, where the tumor was removed. The radiation had resulted in not only alopecia, but thinning and scarring of the scalp as well. Because the circulation was in question, a conservative # of grafts was done: 1684 grafts (4307 hairs). The growth was surprisingly good, except for a quarter sized area near the front which was devoid of growth. The photos were taken at the time of a second small procedure to add some density.
