Hair restoration surgery before and after photos with 3002 grafts and minoxidil

Procedure detail

A 36-year-old Asian hair restoration patient, Norwood V with hair loss from the front to mid scalp and thinning at crown. He took Propecia 10 years ago, for 1 year and stopped since he did not see any results and started again 5 months prior to surgery. He was advised to use Minoxidil solution pre and post-op. The total bald area measured 71 cm2 at the front.

The ultra refined follicular unit hair transplantation was done with strip technique and trichophytic closure.

The details of the hair transplantation is as follows:
Frontal and top area: 1 hair: 374 FU grafts, 2 hair: 1769 FU grafts, 3 hair: 739 FU grafts and 4 hairs: 120 FU grafts.

A total of 3,002 follicular unit grafts consisting of 6,609 hairs were transplanted.
The patient was followed at 6 months post operative with good growth and significant cosmetic improvement. His donor area has minimal scar as shown in the photograph.

We will submit an update of the patient at 1 year post-surgery when he returns to the clinic in the next 6 months.

Occurs when the connecting bridge of hair disappears leaving a single large bald area on the front and top of the scalp. The hair on the sides of the scalp remains relatively high.
