FUT performed on a 51 year old Caucasian male with:- NW III-IV
- Donor density of ca. 78 FU/cm2
- Hair diameter unknown
Treatment plan:
A Follicular Unit Strip procedure with 2500-3000 follicular units to reconstruct the entire hair line, the central core and to fill in the mid head area, without shaving the recipient area.
Performed procedure (November 17, 2006):
A Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 2818 FU:
* 950 single hair FU
* 1100 double hair FU
* 608 triple hair FU
* 160 four hair FU
Donor closing in single layer suture technique;
Parallel incisions (single, double, triple and four hair units) were made with SolidCore™ needles with a diameter of 21, 20, 19 and 18 Gauge;
Dense packing technique with a density between 30 FU/cm2 and 50 FU/cm2 depending on each recipient zone.
This patient came back to my clinic 6 years after his first procedure, he wanted to schedule a second procedure this year to fill in his crown area.

Norwood class 3
The earliest stage of male hair loss. It is characterized by a deepening temporal recession.
