Procedure detail
Follicular Unit Extraction performed on a 32 year old Caucasian male with:
- NW V Class T-P
- Donor density of ~80-85 FU/cm2 in the occipital donor region and ~72-76 FU/cm2 in the temporal donor
regions
- Hair diameter of ~ 70-76 microns
Treatment plan:
- 1st FUE procedure with 2500-3000FU to reconstruct the hairline, central core, bridge and temporal peaks.
- 2nd FUE procedure with 2500-2800FU to reconstruct the crown area and to add density to the overall recipient area (future procedure)
- A medical therapy with finasteride 1mg.
Performed procedure (May 17th & 18th, 2010):
A Follicular Unit Extraction with 2600FU in a 2 successive days session:
* 652 single hair FU
* 1948 double and triple hair FU
Extraction performed with a 0.9mm FUE punch with CIT Manual Punch Handle. Microscopic preparation of the single follicular unit grafts;
Parallel incisions (single, double and triple units) were made in custom-sized blades technique (~Cutting Edge blades of 0.75mm – 0.9mm).

Occurs when the connecting bridge of hair disappears leaving a single large bald area on the front and top of the scalp. The hair on the sides of the scalp remains relatively high.
